Anyone dealing with an amputation faces certain challenges. At Quality Home Care Solutions, we provide assistance to those recuperating and adjusting to an amputation. In diabetic seniors, foot and lower leg amputations are, unfortunately, relatively common. Our staff of therapists, CNAs and home health aides are experienced in working with amputees, and can help them learn to get around and function as fully as possible.
Increasing quality of life is the foundation of every service we provide at Quality Home Care Solutions. It’s tough enough dealing with an amputation without having to deal with the frustration of not being able to do for yourself. Our caregivers are trained and experienced in post-amputation assistance and familiar with the psychological and physical after effects of amputation.
Services provided by Quality Home Care Solutions include but is not limited to rehabilitation and restoration of function of remaining upper and lower limbs. Coordination between patients, doctors, family members and caregivers enable us to provide a detailed care plan to help transition from one level of care to another during the rehabilitative process.
Our caregivers also provide assistance in the home environment, in running errands, shopping, meal planning and preparation, to round-the-clock nursing care. Our caregivers as well as therapists help and guide amputees in the use of prosthetic devices, ambulatory aids such as canes, walkers, and wheelchairs during the rehabilitation and recovery process. Lifestyle support, special adaptive products and mobility products are accessible for amputees in order to increase self-reliance, independence and mobility. Our caregivers may also assess the living environment to ensure that it is safe for those recovering from amputation and that rooms in the home and/or apartment are accessible for such devices.
At Quality Home Care Solutions, our staff is also experienced, knowledgeable and trained in post-amputation health issues. We’ll help create a menu plan that offers optimal nutrition for wound healing, and deal with ongoing health issues including those experiencing cardiac, respiratory or diabetic issues. Our nurses are also able to watch for signs of infection, with wound dressings, and supervise medications.
